Do you receive any of the following?

  • Universal Credit
  • Income Support
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Guaranteed element of State Pension

Or are any of these applicable to you?

  • Receive Child Tax Credit, and have an annual income less than £16,190
  • Receive Working Tax Credit, and have an annual income of less than £16,190
  • Care for a looked after child
  • Have an adopted child
  • Have a child who receives Disability Living Allowance (DLA) in their own right
  • Have a child looked after by the Local Authority

If my child is eligible, when will they qualify for their free early learning place for two year olds?

Will be eligible for a free place from:
1st April and 31st August (inclusive) The start of the autumn term following their second birthday until they can access their free early education place at three years.
1st September and 31st December (inclusive) The start of the spring term following their second birthday until they can access their free early education place at three years.
1st January and 31st March (inclusive) The start of the summer term following their second birthday until they can access their free early education place at three years.

* Although the actual term dates vary from year to year to accommodate national holidays such as Easter, which moves each year, term dates to determine eligibility remains constant.
